Entrepreneurship-Focused Centers and Initiatives
McCombs' entrepreneurial resources equip our students with the knowledge and skills to effectively engage in entrepreneurship. Our centers and initiatives are designed for students who are interested in launching and developing new businesses, as well as how to maintain and expand existing ones. Our resources adapt to the new technological landscape, offering resources that are catered to the direction the business industry is moving in. We encourage students to develop the right mindset and the tools they need to implement new ideas and channel their creativity throughout their careers, regardless of their role or industry.
Blockchain Initiative
The Blockchain Initiative at Texas McCombs aims to support faculty and graduate students research blockchain across colleges at the University of Texas, to teach concepts related to blockchain, cyrptocurrency, and digital payments; and to be the hub of knowledge for external relations.
Center for Business, Technology & Law
The Center for Business, Technology, and Law brings together the fields of Information Technology, Business Strategy, and Law and Public Policy to study the various aspects of Electronic Commerce. The Center shares joint research projects with other leading centers at McCombs.
Center for Analytics and Transformative Technologies
The Center for Analytics and Transformative Technologies fosters collaboration between faculty, industry leaders, and students to understand and address business problems.
Energy Initiative
The Energy Initiative aims to find new and innovative ways to meet our increasing demand for energy in a responsible, effective matter by encouraging professional collaboration, promoting honest debate and offering educational resources to the leaders of tomorrow.
Entrepreneurship Minor
The Entrepreneurship Minor is available for students to learn about entrepreneurship fundamentals and what it takes to succeed in entrepreneurship. Students take classes, participate in the McCombs entrepreneurial community, and graduate with an Entrepreneurship Minor.
Healthcare Innovation Initiative
The Healthcare Innovation Initiative is a campus-wide initiative to develop programs that will help society address the challenges of healthcare delivery and to create a community of scholarship on topics at the intersection of healthcare delivery, innovation, and information.
Herb Kelleher Entrepreneurship Center
Since 2001, Herb Kelleher Entrepreneurship Center is dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation at The University of Texas at Austin. Its mission is to create the finest academic research and teaching center focused on entrepreneurship in the United States.
Social Innovation Initiative
At the Social Innovation Initiative, our goal is to inspire and educate future leaders to create value for their organizations while also creating social and environmental impact. Global challenges such as climate change and poverty are too vast for governments of the social sector to solve alone.
Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs
Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs at The University of Texas at Austin is a university-wide initiative to support technology commercialization, entrepreneurship, and innovation while providing a unique and directly applicable educational experience for participating graduate students.
