Financing Your Degree

Paying for college can be a daunting task, but scholarships and financial aid can help ease the burden.

Residency

Texas law classifies each person who applies for admission to a Texas public college or university as: a resident of Texas; a non-resident; or a foreign (international) student.

Non-residents can be considered for scholarships through the university scholarship application. Non-residents studying business also qualify for McCombs scholarships starting the Spring semester of their freshman year.

Fund Your Way with Financial Aid

There are various forms of financial aid available to students to help offset the cost of attendance.

University Scholarships

The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid administers a range of scholarships and resources to incoming and current students:

McCombs School of Business Scholarships

In the spring of your freshman year, you are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by the business school.

Like the university, the business school also has one application to determine eligibility for BBA scholarships and awards, as determined by a selection committee.

Financial Aid

UT Austin awards $500 million a year in financial aid. Your very first step to apply for scholarships and financial aid is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

All need-based financial aid is awarded based on your FAFSA information. Aid can come in many forms including grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities and loans.
