Supply Chain Management in The Netherlands and Ireland - May Term
Explore supply chain management with Dell Technologies in two different locations - The Netherlands and Ireland!
Participants will follow the supply chain of a final product backwards through the manufacturing and distribution process in two different European locations. The journey begins in Texas, where participants, led by UT faculty, will visit Dell Technologies corporate offices and the Port of Houston. Once abroad, the group will also visit a port in Rotterdam, Netherlands and finish the experience with Dell supplier and factory visits in Cork and Limerick, Ireland. This hands-on experience provides students with a real-world perspective on supply chain management while earning credit for OM 335 - Operations Management - taught by UT faculty

About the Program
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
ELIGIBILITY
This program is open to BBA students with a minimum 2.80 GPA.
Prerequisites: Students must have credit or registration for Statistics 301/301H or 309/309H
Please note, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Canfield Business Honors Program: All Faculty-Led Programs are open to current CBHP students and Faculty-Led Program courses may count for Honors credit. These will count toward the student's maximum limit of 2 non-Honors courses. Contact your CBHP advisor for more information.
Enrolling in a May Term or Summer Term Faculty-Led Program will not negatively impact a student's CBHP application.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
- May 6-8: Classes in Austin & Port of Houston Visit. Note: Housing is not provided during this portion in Austin.
- May 10: Travel Day (Students may depart Texas from any airport of their choice)
- May 11 - May 24: Program in the Netherlands. Arrival location: Amsterdam Airport.
- May 25 - June 5: Program in Ireland. A one-way group ticket from the Netherlands to Ireland is included.
Please note: Round-trip international flights to and from Europe are each student's responsibility. The program includes a one-way ticket from the Netherlands to Ireland only.

Operations Management - OM 335 - Taught by UT faculty
OM 335 will fulfil the OM 235 BBA degree requirement
Students who have already taken OM 235 (or have satisfied their OM 235 requirement with another OM course) are not eligible to enroll in this program.

COMPANY VISITS
Company visits are an important component of the program. They are designed to provide students with a first-hand look at important local industries and business practices.
CULTURAL EXCURSIONS
Cultural excursions provide students with an opportunity to experience the local environment. Weekly outings, including admission fees, are coordinated on behalf of the group. These events are built into the program and participation at each event is mandatory.

Participants will live together in a student residence.
TRANSPORTATION
Participants will book their round-trip international flight on their own and will arrange their own transportation from the airport to the dorm. We recommend booking a multi-city flight arriving in Rotterdam and departing from Limerick.
Your program coordinator will provide a detailed itinerary - do not make travel plans until you receive the finalized schedule.

VISA AND PASSPORT INFORMATION
PASSPORT
Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the study abroad trip. Texas Global Passport Services can process passport applications.
Passports are taking an exceptionally long time to be processed. If you are even considering a study abroad program and you do not have a passport (or your passport will expire within 6 months of the end of your program), you should apply for one now.
U.S. CITIZENS TRAVELING TO THE NETHERLANDS AND IRELAND
U.S. citizens traveling to The Netherlands and Ireland will not require a visa if staying less than 90 days.
OTHER NATIONALITIES TRAVELING TO THE NETHERLANDS AND IRELAND
Depending on your nationality, you may or may not require a visa. Please visit the visit The Netherlands Consular Services and Irish Immigration Services to check requirements for your specific nationality.
It is the student’s responsibility to research specific requirements for their nationality, and to apply for their visa, if necessary. At the student’s request, we will provide additional program-related documentation to support their visa application, such as an official letter, enrollment status at UT, housing and insurance coverage. Students are also encouraged to request formal documentation of student enrollment status from the UT Registrar's Office and are required to notify Texas Global of their travel plans.
