Application Process by Term/Program Type

May Term Faculty-Led Programs

Before you apply:

Requirements:

  • Students who wish to apply must meet the minimum requirements and course prerequisites.
  • Prerequisites must be completed before departure, not at the time the application is submitted.

Application window:

  • May Term applications are open from October 1-15 and can only be accessed during the application period.
  • Late applicants must email Leticia Patterson to access the application.
  • Completing the application does not guarantee admission to any program.

Selection process:

Due to high demand, a random, lottery-based selection process is used for all Faculty-Led Programs. Some programs undergo a more comprehensive review and available spaces are weighed toward applicants who meet certain criteria.

  • If you are selected, you will be notified and provided next steps.
  • Students are usually notified 1-2 weeks after applications close.
  • Admitted students must pay the required $500 deposit within one week of acceptance.
  • This deposit will be applied to the overall program fee.

Scholarships:

  • The only opportunity to apply for a May Term Scholarship is at the time you submit your application.
  • Students cannot apply for a May Term Scholarship retroactively.

Selected applicants will receive their placement offer and scholarship offer simultaneously if they receive one.

If you aren’t accepted:

If you didn’t receive a placement in your desired program, you can remain on the waitlist or switch to another program with open availability/extra spaces.

MPA selection priorities:

  • First priority: Fourth/fifth year and Traditional MPA students
  • Second priority: Third-year iMPA students
  • Third priority: MPA students who have previously participated in a Faculty-Led Program.

Non-business majors are eligible to participate in the following programs:
